The Extra Jumbo List of Kids Books to Spark Your Nostalgia

I try not to drown in nostalgia so much. Doesn’t everyone always say you can’t relive the past? However, relishing in it here and there can’t be that bad. I often find myself thinking back to the good old days when I’d get home from elementary school to watch PBS, Nickelodeon, or, dare I say…Supermarket Sweep with my mom! Life was simple, snacks were fun (and maybe unhealthy), and the books were just top notch.

Our classes would live for the thirty minutes we’d spend at the Scholastic book fair every time it paid us a glorious visit. I recall hungrily circling over the tables set up with book covers looking like a mosh of complimentary colors. Some had familiar character faces, others were new releases. Whether they ended up in my backpack or in the library, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. Now, I seem to be drowning in nostalgia all over again because I’ve found thirty-one children’s books that will bring back memories of school days and simple times. I will say this: this isn’t nearly all of the kids books that hold a special place in my heart. That list is endless. But I’m sure these will get your memory going.
