Out of This World Sci-Fi Novels

Welcome to a new week with book recommendations that are out of this world! Who doesn’t love to snuggle up with a good sci-fi novel? These new novels are so good you won’t be able to stop reading until you reach the last page.

 

1. Black Sun by Rebecca Ronanhorse

Black Sun tells the story of a ship captain named Xiala, and begins with the winter solstice happening at the same time as a solar eclipse. For the holy city of Tova, the solstice is about renewal but now, with the eclipse, there will be an unbalance. Xiala is on a ship heading for Tova in time for the solstice. On board of her ship is a man named Serapio who is described as harmless. Serapio is blind and cloaked in destiny, and even though he is decribed as harmless, Xiala knows better. She knows harmless really means villian.

 

 

2. The Brightest Night by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Brightest Night tells the story of a young girl named Evelyn Dasher. Evelyn was a normal girl a year ago, leading an unremarkable life, but now things have changed for her. She’s on the run, and under the protection of Luc, an inhuman. She has been betrayed by those closets to her and truths about herself have come to light. Evelyn knew those truths before, and was made to forget them. These truths have big consequences and now Evelyn is caught in the storm of it all.

 

3. Memento by Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff

Memento is about the advanced AI system named AIDEN. AIDEN was supposed to protect the survivors of a deadly attack, but everyone is now realizing that there is something wrong with AIDEN. It took weeks, and months, to figure that infalliable AIDEN is defective.

 

 

4. The Saints of Salvation by Peter F. Hamilton

The Saints of Salvation is about humanity begin taken over by aliens. The alien race are on a mission to bring sentient life to their God by the end of time. Mankind is also playing some games of their own; a longer game than the aliens thought. Maybe this strategy millenia will be enough to defeat this unstoppable enemy, and what exactly are the aliens hiding?

 

5. Forget This Ever Happened by Cassandra Rose Clarke

Forget This Ever Happened tells the story of Claire and her summer in Indianola, Texas. Claire is there to take care of her mean, sick grandmother. It is the summer of 1993, and there is nothing exciting about Indianola, until Claire discovers something literally out of this world. However, there is a catch; you can only remember this remarkable thing if you live stay in Indianola, but if you leave you forget about it. There is a gap in reality in this Texas town, nothing is as it seems, and only Claire can figure it out. The attractive girl next door, may have the answers to Claire’s questions, but she comes from a powerful family and might be hiding the truth. The history of the town is unraveling and Claire might not be able to leave.
