7 Things More Likely to Happen Than George R.R. Martin Releasing ‘The Winds of Winter’

Fans of George R.R. Martin‘s series, A Song of Ice and Fire, are been pretty disappointed by the amount of time it takes him to write: It’s been about seven years since the last novel in the series, A Dance With Dragons was released. The long-awaited sequel, The Winds of Winter is nowhere in sight.

We’ve been doing a lot of thinking about why it has taken Martin so long. All, we could come up with are 5 things that are more likely to happen than the release of The Winds of Winter

1) The United States gets universal healthcare

As Bernie Sanders continually says, the USA is the only developed country in the world who doesn’t offer universal healthcare to its citizens. So…yeah. We’re more likely to get universal healthcare than the release of The Winds of Winter

2) We’ll find life on another planet.

We’ve scoured space for decades and have found nothing…or have we? Area 51 might hold the clues, but when will the public be let in on any secrets that are there? We most definitely will learn about life on other planets before the release of The Winds of Winter

3) We’ll find who murdered Biggie and Tupac .

It’s been over 20 years since the murders of rappers, Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur. No one has confessed to the murders and no one has been arrested. It’s more likely we’ll get to the bottom of these crimes before Martin releases The Winds of Winter

4) J.K. Rowling releases another Harry Potter book.

She said she was finished with the series, but who knows. George said he was releasing The Winds of Winter this year and look where we are now.

5) O.J. Simpson will finally admit he did it.

Because we all know he did.

6) Winning the lottery.

It’s a slim chance in this world, but it’s a better chance than being able to read Martin’s next book.

7) Pigs will fly.

We had to.
