With the premiere of the final season of Game of Thrones comes increased drama, more fight sequences, and an all out battle for the Iron Throne. In addition, we get to add some hot new quotes to our list of favorites from the series.
1. “At least your balls won’t freeze off.” – Tyrion Lannister

We can always trust everyone’s favorite dwarf to find the humor in a situation, and making fun of Lord Varys is his favorite past-time. As clever as Tyrion is, he has definitely graced the list of favorite quotes more than once. He makes us laugh, he gets us to wise up, and he even encourages our wine habits. I can’t wait to see what comes of his character this season, and he’s definitely off to a great start at the beginning of this episode.
2. “I’m waiting for an old friend.” – Bran Stark

Bran Stark was clearly the queen of drama on last night’s episode. He was there watching whenever someone did anything, and the kid knows everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen. So when he’s waiting outside for someone’s appearance, we don’t question it. He is a little weird after gaining all of these abilities. But when Jamie Lannister walks into Winterfell it becomes clear just who Bran is looking for. The show comes to an end with the two in an epic stare down, and who are we kidding, Bran totally won.
3. “If you want a whore, buy one. If you want a queen, earn her.” – Cersei Lannister

As much as we all hate her as a queen, we have to admit when Cersei is the queen. After delivering his fleets that Cersei paid for, he is more preoccupied with getting into her pants than actually winning a battle. It is almost as if neither of these two realize just how desperate the situation is to win the war against the dead. Cersei, however, is not amused by Euron’s attempts and shuts him down real quick. Well, until she gives in and takes him to bed anyway.
4. “Have you ever used it?” “Once or twice.” – Jon Snow/Arya Stark

Over the last seven seasons, we have watched Arya use the sword Jon gave her, Needle, to take down anyone who has stood in her way on the road back home to Winterfell. She even manages to get revenge on the whole Frey family using the skills she learned in Braavos from the Faceless Man. I’m not sure if it’s false modesty on how bad ass she is or if she is trying to stay as innocent as possible in big brother’s eyes. (We know he’s not her brother, but she doesn’t know that yet.)
5. “You gave up your crown to save your people. Would she do the same?” – Samwell Tarly

With the big reveal to Jon Snow about his true lineage, this was the question on everyone’s mind. It’s been clear since Jon made the decision to join the Night’s Watch that he had no desire to hold titles or crowns, but how does knowing his lineage change that? He was named Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch just two seasons before being named King of the North. As a bastard, this is as far-fetched a dream as being brought back to life from the dead. Well, he did that, too. Why is this quote so pivotal though? It proves just how much Sam doesn’t trust Daenerys as his queen. It will be super interesting to see how this changes the dynamic of Jon and Dany’s relationship, but I am much more eager to see how this changes Jon’s desires.
