Kit Harington Isn't Too Upset to Be Leaving ‘Game of Thrones’ Behind

"Would I want to go back and do more? Not on your life."

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones finished filming back in June and Kit Harington has very much moved on. He’s married his on-screen love interest Rose Leslie who was also on the show and he is currently performing on the London stage.

CNN reports that the Jon Snow actor is very focused on his new role in the Sam Shepard play, True West, despite an emotional goodbye to the acclaimed series. Harington also mentioned that after almost a decade’s worth of work he wasn’t too distressed to leave the show behind.

"It was emotional to leave the job definitely," Harington told BBC. "But I wouldn't say I was sad: if like me you go all the way back to the pilot of Game of Thrones that's almost ten years of your life - that's really unusual in an actor's career. It was a huge emotional upheaval leaving that family. But would I want to go back and do more? Not on your life."

The actor confirmed that this included skipping any cameos in the upcoming Game of Thrones prequels even if the opportunity arose.

True West is about the intense relationship between two brothers. Harington’s character, Austin, is an aspiring Hollywood writer hoping to sell the screenplay he is currently working on. His brother, Lee, stumbles back into his life and could pose a distraction.
