James McAvoy Joins 'His Dark Materials' TV Adaptation
On Monday, the Oxford Mail reported that Hollywood star James McAvoy has been cast as Lord Asriel in the upcoming BBC adaptation of Philip Pullman's beloved trilogy, His Dark Materials. The role was played in the unsuccessful 2007 adaptation of The Golden Compass by Daniel Craig.
The series has been in development for several years after being announced in November 2015. It has already cast Dafne Keen, the breakout star of Logan, in which she played Laura Kinney (X-23). Keen will be playing the lead protagonist, Lyra, who was portrayed by Dakota Blue Richards in the film.
