Oprah Winfrey and Keanu Reeves Join U.S. Book Show Event

Oprah Winfrey and Keanu Reeves are just two of the many guests featured in Publishers Weekly’s new virtual conference, U.S. Book Show.

From May 25th to May 27th, Publishers Weekly will host U.S. Book Show, a new virtual conference featuring various authors and editors. The conference’s hosts and guests will discuss important books hitting shelves in Fall 2021, according to the U.S. Book Show website. The event is specifically aimed at booksellers, authors, publishers, librarians, literary agents, editors, and other various book-related professionals.

Publishers Weekly recently released an article stating that Oprah Winfrey will be this year’s keynote speaker. She will discuss her new book, What Happened to You?: Conversations on Trauma, Resilience and Healing, cowritten with neuroscientist and child psychiatrist Bruce D. Perry. Winfrey will deliver her opening speech on May 25th at 10:45 AM ET.

Actor Keanu Reeves recently released a graphic novel called BRZRKR (Vol. 1) with Matt Kindt (cowriter) and Ron Garney (illustrator). His panel will take place on May 25th at 3:00 PM ET, according to Publishers Weekly.

Other notable appearances for U.S. Book Show include Senator Elizabeth Warren (Pinkie Promises), Ijeoma Oluo (So You Want to Talk About Race), Brian Selznick (The Invention of Hugo Cabret, Kaleidoscope), and Padma Lakshmi (Tomatoes for Neela).

According to The New York Times, U.S. Book Show will attempt to replace some features of the convention BookExpo, which was “the largest publishing trade show in the United States.” During U.S. Book Show, attendees will have the opportunity to visit different “rooms,” network, chat live with authors, download various materials, and participate in events like giveaways and discussion panels, as mentioned on the convention’s FAQ page.

Attendees can livestream this event May 25th through May 27th. The conference will also be accessible on-demand until August 31st.
