Lena Dunham has been tapped by Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams to adapt a Syrian refugee’s survival story for a big screen release.   Variety reports that the screenplay will be based on A Hope More Powerful Than the Sea: One Refugee’s Incredible Story of Love, Loss, and Survival, written by Melissa Flemming, chief spokeswoman for the United Nations High Commissioner. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Anya Taylor-Joy has been cast in the lead role for Emma. The new adaptation of the classic Jane Austen novel is being produced by Working Title. According to The Guardian, Stephen King has sold the film rights to his short story ‘Stationary Bike’ for a generous total of $1!   The sale was made to students at the Blaenau Gwent Film Academy in Tredegar, Wales, as part of King’s Dollar Babies initiative. The program allows young filmmakers to adapt any of his short stories that aren’t already under contract.    The initiative began over forty years ago.
