Earlier in the week, the team here at Bookstr released a survey, asking for our readers to weigh in on the best books they’ve read this year. We compiled a comprehensive 26-book long list ranging from Zadie Smith’s Swing Time to the latest Rowling tour de’ force, and asked you to choose your very favorite 2016 read.
We’ve taken a peek at the results, and they rang loud and clear. Harry Potter and The Cursed Child received a whopping 25% of the votes, coming in a very clear first. In second is Stephen King’s End of Watch with 4%; and tied for third with 3% respectively are When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi, and The Vegetarian by Han Kang. It would seem wizard fever shows no sign of cooling down, as new Harry Potter continues to captivate the widest reading audience.
