Since “Anne with an E” is a collaborative effort between Netflix and CBC, a cancellation or renewal partly depends on Canadian viewership. Good news is, a season two order has been bumped.
Netflix and CBC have informed the Hollywood Reporter that there will be another season of “Anne with An E” coming in 2018. Season 2 has also been extended from 8 to 10 episodes and shooting will begin this fall. Produced by Miranda de Pencier’s Northwood Entertainment, the show will bring back a main cast consisting of Amybeth McNulty, Geraldine James, R.H. Thomson and Lucas Jade Zumann.

“Anne Shirley is one of Canada’s greatest gifts to the world. We can’t wait to bring Anne’s next chapter to Netflix members globally,” said Elizabeth Bradley, Netflix VP content, in a statement.
“This exquisite series has drawn universal acclaim and introduced Anne Shirley to an entirely new generation, reaching an audience of 4.5 million in Canada,” said Sally Catto, general manager, programming, CBC. “We know that the inspired cast and entire team will deliver an unforgettable second season.”
