‘Where’d You Go, Bernadette?’ Movie to Start Filming This Summer

Maria Semple‘s novel Where’d You Go, Bernadette? was confirmed to have a film adaptation in November 2015, but there was no news on production since the announcement – until now. It seems that director Richard Linklater is gearing up to start filming this summer! 

According to IndieWire, Linklater who has worked on films such as Dazed and Confused and Boyhood, auctioned a walk-on role in the movie to raise money for his own Austin Film Society at the Texas Film Awards. The role sold for $42,000! 

Actress Cate Blanchett is confirmed to star as the leading role, though no additional cast members have been confirmed. The Fault in Our Stars screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber are set to work on the screenplay about a missing agoraphobic architect, and her 15-year-old daughter’s mission to find her. We can’t wait to find out more!
