Marvel’s The Eternals is just about six months from its release date and fans are still eagerly waiting for a first-look at the star-studded cast in action. The Eternals, an alien race of humanoids created by the godlike Celestials, have been secretly living on Earth for over seven thousand years, that is until after the events of Avengers: Endgame, when an unexpected tragedy reunites the Eternals to protect humanity against their evil counterparts, the Deviants.
So why haven’t we heard any upcoming news? It’s because of the fate of a single Phase 4 movie: Black Widow. Until they know if Black Widow will be pushed back from its November release date or not, every other project of Phase 4 is currently on hold. If Black Widow does end up having to be delayed until 2021, then the entire MCU slate will be shifted once again.
2020 has been quite a disappointing year for entertainment, and not even Disney with its vast resources is immune. However, if Disney decides to release Black Widow on Disney+, then The Eternals will still be able to retain its February release date. Regardless, once the MCU is certain of the fate of Black Widow, the ball that is Phase 4 will continue rolling!
