What Do Your Kids Want to Read?

Children's Choice Book AwardsWinners of the Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards were announced at the seventh Children’s Book Week Gala in New York this week, which was part of the 95th Children’s Book Week. According to the Children’s Book Council, these are the only awards voted for by children and teens.

“Allegiant” by Veronica Roth won the best teen book of the year, while Rush Limbaugh won author of the year for his”Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans.” Book of the Year [Kindergarten through second grade] The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers

Book of the Year [Third through fourth grade] Bugs in My Hair! by David Shannon

Book of the Year [Fifth through sixth grade] National Geographic Kids Myths Busted! by Emily Krieger and illustrated by Tom Nick Cocotos

Book of the Year [Teens] Allegiant by Veronica Roth

Illustrator of the Year Grace Lee for Sofia the First: The Floating Palace

Author of the Year Rush Limbaugh for Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans
