Still gaining new fans half a century after being released, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird is now being made into a graphic novel. The novel is still highly relevant and a new generation of readers can certainly learn from the mistakes made in Maycomb, Alabama. It was just announced that Fred Fordham will be reimagining the classic novel with his art. He already has experience creating graphic novels with other authors’ script after working on Philip Pullman’s The Adventure of John Blake: The Ghost Ship. The new novel has been approved by the Lee estate and will be released by HarperCollins in 2018.

This new version will contain the original story accompanied by Fordham’s art to bring a whole new immersive element to the already beloved novel. Publisher Jason Arthur claimed: “The art I’ve seen so far from Fred is stunning and his adaptation storyboard is utterly true to the original novel.” Our hearts will be broken again as we re-read the beloved classic.
