Wands at the ready!
U.K. publisher Bloomsbury just announced some Sirius-ly good news for Harry Potter fans. Two new books will be released to accompany a Harry Potter exhibition at the British Library this October.
The first book, Harry Potter: A History of Magic, will be a coffee table book featuring J.K. Rowling’s original drafts of the Harry Potter novels and essays about the exhibition. The second book, Harry Potter: A Journey Through a History of Magic, will comprise of various stories about witches, magical creatures, and more.
The Harry Potter exhibition will open on October 20, 2017 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It will include wizarding books, magical objects, and material from J.K. Rowling’s archives. Fans of the books will get to see creatures such as Fawkes the Phoenix brought to life in the Care of Magical Creatures section. The Library’s curators also plan to include historical manuscripts and mythology in the exhibit, which connect to magic traditions found throughout the Harry Potter series.
The books will be released to the U.K. on October 20th, the same day as the opening of the exhibition.
