If you remember the lift-the-flap books from when you were kids, then boy do we have a treat for you. The New York Public Library‘s new exhibit, Love in Venice, explores love, sex, and romance in Venice. In the exhibit is a lift-the-flap book that features erotic scenes from the early Venetian era.
According to NYPL curator, Madeleine Viljoen told The Huffington Post,
“There has been much interest in recent years in so-called interactive prints [however] [t]hese were usually didactic and included items like paper astrolabes or anatomical studies … except for the books shown in the Library’s collection, I cannot think of any other examples of specifically erotic flap books.”
The exhibit is on display until late August!
