Camryn's Creations

This 13-Year-Old Is a Freaking Artist, Writer, and Better Person Than Me

Gathering up the motivation needed to accomplish day-to-day tasks can be hard enough, let alone gathering up the motivation to get those creative juices flowing. I’m twenty-seven-years-old, and I still struggle with self-motivating; that’s why I think the accomplishments of eighth grader, Camryn Green, are so utterly impressive: illustrator, painter, philanthropist, motivational speaker, and now writer!

Camryn Green is a thirteen-year-old girl from Raleigh, North Carolina who became an entrepreneur at the even younger age of eight! She runs her own business called Camryn’s Creations alongside her mom who has been the major influence in her life, and together they sell Camryn’s paintings inspired by African art. The paintings range in price from $20 to $100, and the money earned is divvied up between her college fund, the business itself, and sponsoring a thirteen-year-old Liberian orphan.

One day Camryn decided that painting just wasn’t enough, and she decided to write a children’s book entitled, Think It, Believe It, Do It. The book is filled with pictures of her original creations, and is intended to help inspire other child entrepreneurs. Toggling between her love for painting, writing a motivational book, and running a business, she was also invited to speak at the 38th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast held in Raleigh only a month ago. Not only inspiring children, Camryn Green is also inspiring adults.

What’s next on Camryn’s to-do-list? She wants to have a television show called Camryn’s World where she tours the world, speaking with and egging other children on to follow their dreams as well.
