Endeavor Content has purchased the film and television rights to the book. While no studio is attached to the project as yet, Wolff will be an executive producer, along with former BBC executive Michael Jackson.
Fire and Fury, which does not paint a very pretty picture of the goings-on in the forty-fifth U. S. president’s political world, includes, among many other controversial comments, quotes from “former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who referred to the 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer as ‘treasonous.'” The book sold 30,000 copies just in its opening weekend.
Trump doesn’t love the book. Trump has repeatedly attacked the book as being false, saying in a statement, “We are going to take a strong look at our country’s libel laws so that when somebody says something that is false and defamatory about a person, that person will have meaningful recourse in our courts.”
However, Wolff asserts that the book’s contents were compiled from over 200 interviews as well as firsthand experience in the White House and of the president himself.
