Jenny Han’s first book series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, is FINALLY becoming a television series. The series is set at AmazonPrime, with Han writing the script and she is executive producer for the eight episodes. It’s the greatest thing when the author writes the script, that means the show will be true to the books and amazing.

The three book trilogy chronicles the life of Isabel or as everyone calls her, Belly, Conklin who spends every summer at a beach house with family friends. She finds herself in a love triangle with two brothers, Jeremiah and Conrad, who she has been crushing on for years. There’s lots of drama with the love triangle and within the friendships between the two families. It will make for a great television series, although it might be a better fit for a movie trilogy, but a series works as well. It’s just great that it’s being adapted after all this time. The first book was released in 2009, it’s been 11 years!
Han’s other trilogy, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, are movies on Netflix. The latest and final movie in the trilogy was released on Friday, February 12th. The first film was released in the summer of 2018, and the second was released in early 2020. Now it’s time to say good bye to Lara Jean and Peter, and hello to Belly Conklin and the Fisher Brothers.
The Summer I Turned Pretty will be streaming on Amazon at some point this year. In the meantime you can stream all three To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, right here.
