If you’ve seen every Marvel film more times than you can count, and have always wanted to learn everything about how your favorite superhero movies were made, then you’re in luck! Marvel is releasing a two-volume history chronicling the making of the iconic Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films!
The Story of Marvel Studios, written by Tara Bennett and Paul Terry, is the first and only fully authorized book detailing the development and filming of the twenty-three Infinity Saga movies. Starting with Iron Man (2008) and ending with Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), the book will cover the MCU film history from its origins, Phases One, Two, and Three, and the outset of Phase Four, according to Marvel.
According to Nerds and Beyond, Bennett and Terry “conducted over 200 interviews with the cast, crew, producers, writers, directors, concept artists, VFX artists, costume designers, and composers throughout the ten years of filming.” The authors were also permitted “unprecedented access to Marvel Studios,” as mentioned in an article published on Marvel’s official website.
Together, the two hardcover books are 512 pages long, containing memorabilia, never-before-seen photos, personal stories and photos from the cast, and many other materials Marvel fans of all ages will enjoy. The book’s foreword is written by the President of Marvel Studios and Chief Creative Officer of Marvel (man, how would you like that job?!), Kevin Feige. The afterward is written by Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr.
The Story of Marvel Studios will be available on October 19, 2021. However, you can pre-order the book from various sites, including Amazon. The book is published through Abram Books.
