This fantastical series for young readers tells the story of best friends Agatha and Sophie who are about to discover the fabled School for Good & Evil, where ordinary boys and girls are trained to become fairy tale heroes and villains. Sophie, who has dreamed of being a damsel in distress her whole life, seems the perfect fit for the school of good; and Agatha, who dislikes almost everyone, matches the school of evil almost perfectly. But when their fates are reversed and they are placed into the opposite school, they must discover who they really are.
The film will be directed by Paul Feig, director of movies such as A Simple Favor, Spy, and Bridemaids. David Magee, screenplay writer of Mary Poppins Returns and Laura Solon of Office Christmas Party will write the screenplay.
Feig says “I’m truly excited to bring this amazing, touching, funny and empowering world that Soman created in his wonderful books to life. I feel like a frog that just turned into a prince.”
The combination of incredible source material, and the amazing people working on the adaptation, leaves us all very excited to see the movie!
