The ‘One Book, One New York’ Competition Starts Today

Buzzfeed recently partnered with NYC Commissioner Julie Menin and the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment to bring readers the “One Book, One New York” program. This initiative encourages readers all over New York City to read the same book at the same time. Here’s the catch: There are five books up for a vote, but only one will be chosen. Five celebrities pitched each of the books.

Check out their testimonials below and vote!

Bebe Neuwirth – Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Danielle Brooks – Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Larry Wilmore – The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz

Giancarlo Esposito – The Sellout by Paul Beatty
