Inspired by Green’s own high school experiences, Looking For Alaska tells the story of a teenager, Miles (“Pudge”), who decides to go to boarding school in order to find a deeper meaning to life. He meets Alaska, a girl who helps him learn more about himself, and they fall in love, but the happiness does not last…

Josh Schwartz, veteran producer of The O.C., has been working enthusiastically on this adaptation for over a decade. He will back the project as executive producer alongside John Green and Stephanie Savage. Schwartz and Savage have worked together before, producing Hulu’s Marvel’s Runaways and CW’s Dynasty, which were both recently renewed for a second seasons.

With the success of The Handmaid’s Tale, Hulu is quickly becoming a great platform to watch book adaptations. Joseph Heller’s Catch-22 and Celeste Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere are also slated for future release on Hulu. Be sure to stay on the lookout.
