I think this title is real, right? Yeah sure let’s go with it. Sony Pictures has officially announced that the next Spider-Man film is titled Spider-Man: No Way Home and will hit theaters (remember those?) December 17, 2021!

The official title was revealed in a video Sony released of Tom Holland trying to get the title out of returning director Jon Watts while his co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon make fun of the fact that he can’t seem to keep secrets. Remember when he spoiled Avengers: Infinity War for an entire theater by shouting, “I’m alive!”? Sorry Tom we love you, but your reputation is warranted.

The announcement comes after the Spider-Man actor along with his co-stars trolled fans by each posting their own fake titles to Instagram such as Spider-Man: Phone Home, Spider-Man: Homewrecker, and Spider-Man: Home Slice. While the titles may be fake, the images that accompany them are the first official ones from the new film so far!

Spider-Man: No Way Home is rumored to include the multiverse, which is set to be introduced to the MCU in the Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This theory seems to be supported not only by the fact that Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch is set to appear, but also other actors from previous Spider-Man films. Alfred Molina, who played Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2, and Jamie Foxx, who played Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, are set to appear in the film as well. Rumors have also been swirling that former spider-men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be co-starring in the film, but nothing has been confirmed.

How excited are you for the new Spider-Man movie? What are your theories as to what the title may mean? Let us know in the comments below!
