When Netflix debuted their adaptation of Charles Forsman’s graphic novel It’s the End of the F***ing World, it instantly became a hit. The suspenseful yet darkly comedic drama drew in a huge number of fans that might have otherwise not known that the graphic novels existed. Now, it has only just recently been officially confirmed that Netflix will be working on and releasing the second season for this critically acclaimed and accurate adaptation.

It’s the End of the F***ing World depicts an odd teenage love story between James and Alyssa as they run away together. That may sound like a generic premise, but keep in mind that in the beginning, James is a psychopath who expresses his desires to kill more than just animals and Alyssa initially wants to be his girlfriend. There are so many crazy turns during their adventure, and the ending of the first season left fans with a cliffhanger-ending.

Speaking of cliffhanger-endings, many fans figured that there wouldn’t even be a second season. Many fans and critics claimed that the adaptation didn’t need a second season. The ending of the first season does indeed feel like a satisfying end to an amazing story, but the indefinite fate of James and Alyssa made fans hunger for answers and more adventure.
So far, we only have the announcement of the second season, and no other details besides that Charlie Covell will return as writer. We can probably expect to see the second season some time in mid to late 2019.
