The Bookish Nail Artist You Never Knew You Needed

Quite possibly some of the most aesthetically pleasing Instagram accounts I’ve ever come across, Australia-based blogger Amanda bases her manicures off of young adult novels, focusing on authors or stories taking place in Australia. Alongside the manicures, Amanda posts book reviews along with her gorgeous book flat lays on Instagram, YouTube, and her blog.

She’s hand-painted almost every book cover you could think of including Rupi Kaur’s The Sun and Her Flowers, Jennifer Niven’s All The Bright Places, and even Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows duology.

Her first bookish manicure dates all the way back to March of 2013 with manicures inspired by Steven Herrick’s Slice and Libba Bray’s Beauty Queens. Since starting the blog, Amanda’s small-scale painting skills have improved remarkably. Practice really does make perfect when you’ve spent the past five years painting over 200 manicures. What started out as simple galaxy-inspired nails has now turned into painstakingly detailed micro garden of flowers, all atop a single nail.

Amanda also does take private bookings, so if you’re in Sydney, Australia and are looking to have gorgeous literary nails, you’re in luck!

Alongside her gorgeous literary nails, Amanda’s book blogging Instagram account is filled to the brim with colorful photos of her latest reads, usually perched up alongside equally as colorful cups of tea.
