It has been twenty years since the publication of the first Harry Potter novel- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (or Philosopher’s Stone if you’re outside the USA.) And there is some good news coming for those of us who just CAN’T. LET. GO.

To soften the blow of how old you feel upon learning that the franchise is turning twenty, the BBC are putting together a documentary in honor of the occasion. Harry Potter: A History of Magic will explore the real life magical traditions that inspired J. K. Rowling’s ‘wizarding world.’

A History of Magic will show Rowling’s previously unseen manuscripts, sketches, and drafts of the famous novels from her personal collection. The one-off special will include famous fans of the series discussing their favorite aspects of Harry Potter, as well as real life Quidditch players and wand makers discussing their craft.
The program, which will be produced by Jude Ho, does not yet have an air date. Until one is announced, have fun anxiously checking every single hour of every single day.
