Commended author Terry Pratchett’s final Discworld novel, The Shepherd’s Crown, debuted its British and U.S. covers. While some held out hope that Pratchett’s daughter, Rhianna, would write more of the series following the author’s death in March, she is adamant about not intruding on her father’s work.
Pratchett’s Twitter account posted the U.S. and U.K. versions of The Shepherd’s Crown cover. Tiffany Aching, Nac Mac Feegles, and swarming bees are displayed on the U.K. version, while the U.S. cover is scaled back a bit, with images of bees and a shell.
The last Discworld novel will be released on August 27 in the U.K. and September 1 in the U.S., marking the end of the series. Pratchett fans shouldn’t fret, though. Rhianna said on Twitter that she would be open to writing adaptations, spin-offs, or tie-ins related to Discworld.
