Calling All Brains is Temple Grandin’s newest book. Grandin is best known for being autistic and “groping her way from the far side of darkness” as she says in her book Emergence: Labeled Autistic. She is so incredibly interesting, because she is able to speak on exactly what it’s like to have autism and to control it.

Her book Calling All Brains is about invention and innovation. The book will focus on projects that Grandin worked on as a child. Each project teaches the reader a lesson through a hands-on approach rather than just reading. She puts this pedagogy to practice with her students at Colorado State University to draw pictures to convey ideas instead of only writing.
Her teaching style at Colorado State will be the core feature of Calling All Brains. That is what makes this book so unique. Her ability to communicate ideas has the potential to change our entire view of education. Unfortunately, the book does not come out until 2018. Until then, brush up on your Grandin!
