Stephen King’s highly anticipated adaptation of IT isn’t the only thriller fans can look forward to. King’s son, author Joe Hill, is one step closer to premiering the TV adaptation of his horror series Locke & Key.
IT star Jackson Robert Scott will play the role of Bode Locke. Scott is no stranger to the horror genre, as he portrays iconic character Georgie Denbrough in the upcoming release of King’s classic killer clown novel which hits theaters September 8th.
Locke will star alongside Francis O’Connor (The Conjuring 2) who will play the role of his grief-stricken mother, Nina Locke.

Locke & Key is a horror comic book series centered around three siblings – Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode Locke – who move with their mother into their father’s ancestral home following his death. While their mother’s grief and solace in alcohol distracts her from the eerie nature of their new home, the siblings become aware of an unnerving and mysterious presence surrounding them.

Though Hill’s graphic series has been praised by readers for years, it has taken some time to get an adaptation up and running. Hill pitched a pilot of the adaptation to a variety of networks, including Fox who turned it down in 2011. Hulu announced their interest in adapting the series earlier this year, reviving fans hopes in seeing the terrifying narrative play out on screens.
The adaptation will be written by Hill and directed by familiar face Andres Muschietti who directed IT. Though a release date is yet to be announced, the adaptation is one step closer to premiering.
