Andrés Muschietti’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen King‘s It has to be good. The ABC adaptation might have starred the brilliant Tim Curry, but it was also pretty slow. For King fans, It is among his best. With the disappointing critical and audience response to The Dark Tower, fans of the horror legend need at least one good thing to happen.
Some movie reporters have gotten the chance to see It, and have taken to social media to share their thoughts. The response so far has been extremely positive. Check out what people have to say, and hop on the hype train.
These are themes in King’s stories that filmmakers often ignore. But the best adaptations figure out they’re the most vital part.

#ITmovie social embargo is up, so I will say… I liked it! Kids are great. BSkars is great. Also, surprisingly, it’s pretty dang funny.

Felt a Poltergeist meets the Monster Squad vibe – a great example of a film where its R rating elevates it in all the best ways

I love the #ITMovie. It’s everything I wanted. Scary as shit, Skarsgard nails Pennywise, and the Losers are perfection.

#ITMovie is everything I hoped for & more. Has heart, laughs & TONS of incredible scares. Fell in love w/ The Losers. Didn’t want it to end.

Bill Skarsgård stars as Pennywise, and has already received his share of praise. The film was originally intended to be directed by Cary Fukunaga (Jane Eyre, True Detective), but the project was shelved before being picked back up by New Line with Muschietti. It will float into theaters September 8th. Check out the trailer here:
