According to various sources (sources I disagree with) Stranger Things 2 didn’t quite live up to the first season. Whether you loved the second season just as much as the first or not, there’s no denying that Stranger Things is killing it – especially since its number one biggest fan seems to be…Stephen King!
STRANGER THINGS is pure fun. A+. Don’t miss it. Winona Ryder shines.

STRANGER THINGS 2: Ladies and gentlemen, that’s how you do it: no bullshit, balls to the wall entertainment. Straight up.

Stranger Things takes inspiration from a variety of campy 80s movies. King’s books and the movies based on his books are no exception. The show touches on elements from Firestarter to It to The Mist to Stand By Me, and while King isn’t the biggest fan of all the adaptations of his work, he’s become quite the stan for Stranger Things and the Duffer brothers in general.
“He’s amazing,” Matt Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter. “And when he tweeted about Stranger Things, I was trying not to cry, because that was right before the premiere and it really f–ked me up. It was like 20 minutes before we were supposed to get in the car, and I’m like, ‘I’m barely functional right now.’”
Considering the King of Horror is all in for your horror-inspired series, that’s quite the compliment.
