His book promises to go depth on some of the deeper issues of his life. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Bruce said that, “I had to find the roots of my own troubles and issues- and the joyful things that have allowed me to put on the kind of shows that we put on.” He talks about the terror he felt the first time he performed in front of a television audience of over 100 million people, the memories of his childhood both good and bad, and his battle with depression.
When we think of successful people like Bruce Springsteen, we typically don’t associate them with depression. However, he argues that “whoever you’ve been and wherever you’ve been, it never leaves you.” Even now, in his sixties, he still struggles with the same battle, “I was crushed between sixty and sixty-two.” Hiding how he felt from everybody around him, he struggled to stay sane.
Needless to say this book is a must buy for the avid Springsteen fan. Everything you have ever wondered about this American rockstar will probably be covered in this autobiography.
