Bob Woodward has remained a prominent author, journalist, and critic of both past and current presidencies. After reporting on the Watergate scandal of the 1970s, Woodward continued his writing, which led to his particular critical style. Now, the acclaimed author has returned with his newest release, Fear, and sales are already spiking.

Woodward’s account joins the ranks of other prominent critical take-downs to the current presidency such as Michael Wolffe’s Fire and Fury. However, Woodward’s account may surpass Wolffe’s in profits and sales. A whopping 750,000 copies have already been sold in the few days since its released. Fear seems to be spreading far and wide, and may even break records if its sales continue to boom.
The current White House Administration is trying to distance themselves from Woodward’s scathing critique. His book is also currently being bashed by the president himself. Trump has since called it a work of “fiction” and fake news.

In an interview with “Fox and Friends”, the president’s son Eric Trump said
You can write a sensational nonsense book. CNN will definitely have you on there because they love to trash the president. It’ll mean you sell three extra books, you make three extra shekels.
This remark has been called out as an anti-Semitic slur or insult to Woodward, who is not even Jewish. Despite the criticisms, Woodward has used Trump’s own words against him in proving his points in his book. Woodward responded later on CNN:
