Cormoran Strike fans, rejoice! Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling) has allowed fans a sneak peek at his new crime novel, Career of Evil, in advance of its October 20 release.
The Guardian published the first chapter of the new novel, which is the latest in the acclaimed crime series that J.K. Rowling writes under the pen name Robert Galbraith. Career of Evil marks the third appearance of character Cormoran Strike, the popular detective who drew readers to The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm.
Strike does not appear in person in the excerpt – instead, we’re treated to the ravings of the novel’s antagonist. Writing as Galbraith, Rowling takes us inside the head of a deranged killer who is seeking revenge against Cormoran Strike. It’s an unnerving beginning to what is sure to be a thrilling crime novel.
