We may not be getting new music from Prince anytime soon, or ever, RIP, but we will be getting his autobiography sometime in fall of this year. Many books, articles, essays, and criticisms have been written and published about soul artist, Prince, but he has never published anything personal besides his music.
Back in March of 2016, before Prince’s death in April of that year, publisher Spiegel & Grau announced that they had signed a book deal with the legend. According to Variety, Prince submitted 50 pages of handwritten pages to his publisher prior to his death. Tentatively, Prince was planning on titling the publication ‘The Beautiful Ones’, after one of his songs, announced at one of his last concerts in Manhattan in 2016.

Esther Newberg, Prince’s publishing agent, announced the news in a Variety podcast that the memoir should be published in time for the holidays and may possibly include reproductions of Prince’s handwritten pages.
Spiegel & Grau executive editor Chris Jackson stated in an interview with Rolling Stone that “we’re thrilled to be publishing Prince’s powerful reflections on his own life in his own incandescently vidid, witty, and poetic voice.”
