‘Pride and Prejudice’ Gets Teen Spin-Off Focusing on Lydia

London based author Natasha Farrant, best known for The Things We Did For Love (2012) and her poignant Bluebell Gadsby series, is giving lovers of the iconic Jane Austen classic an exciting opportunity to delve into the life of Lydia Bennet.

Lydia is well known as the spoiled and self-indulgent younger sister of Elizabeth Bennet, the protagonist of Pride and PrejudiceThe teen novel, Lydia: The Bad Bennet Girl, is set to be released in 2016 by Chicken House. The book is intended to open young readers to the world of Pride and Prejudice by connecting them with the young-and-wild, original voice of Lydia Bennet.          

Natasha Farrant works in children’s publishing and runs her own literary scouting agency.  The Things We Did For Love was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award 2013, and After Iris (2014was longlisted for the Guardian Children’s Fiction Book Award 2014.
