Have you ever had any experience with the paranormal? In honor of National Paranormal Day, here’s a list of paranormal and supernatural stories, fiction and nonfiction, that you should give a try, especially if you like to be up all night.


1. Mules and Men by Zora Neale Hurston

Zora Neale Hurston is the late author of the classic Their Eyes Were Watching God and the soon-to-be-released Barracoon. But did you know some of her books contain documentations of her personal experiences with hoodoo? Reading this book will surely leave you a little spooked.


2. The Diviners by Libba Bray

Libba Bray has a great three book series out called The Diviners. The story follows a group of young people fighting an evil spirit that threatens to wreak havoc. If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter series I definitely recommend giving this a go.

This short story by W.W. Jacobs can be found in his collection of short stories The Lady of the Barge. This story helps you answer this question: “What if you could wish for anything and have it come true?” It’s a little reminder that nothing is free.
