In the ten-episode first season, Considine, who will play King Viserys Targaryen, is chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal. Viserys only wishes to carry on his father’s legacy, but good men do not necessarily make for great kings. Considine co-starred on the first season of HBO’s The Outsider and currently appears in the HBO/Sky Atlantic miniseries The Third Day. Other credits of Considine include Journeyman, Peaky Blinders, Hot Fuzz, Dead Man’s Shoes, In America, and The Ferryman. House of the Dragon is slated for release in 2022.
