Nominate Your Favorite Teacher for Barnes & Noble Contest

Barnes & Noble is going to award one teacher and their school $5,000 each, but they need your help to make the choice. The bookselling giant is collecting student nominations for its ‘My Favorite Teacher Contest’ right now!

The entries can take the form of essays, poems, or thank-you notes, and the contest is open to middle school and high school students. Participating schools will collect the entries and submit them to their local Barnes & Noble stores. If your school isn’t participating, you can still nominate a teacher by going to a Barnes & Noble directly or entering by mail. The deadline for entry is March 1, 2016.

The contest will select local and regional winners before selecting one national winner. Regional winners will get a $500 Barnes & Noble gift certificate and a free Nook e-reader. The national winner will be named the ‘Barnes & Noble My Favorite Teacher of the Year’ and will be honored by a celebration at their local Barnes & Noble branch. Along with the honors, the teacher will collect a $5,000 cash prize. The winning teacher’s school will get $5,000, too!

The student who nominates the winner will be rewarded as well: they’ll get a $500 gift card to Barnes & Noble and will receive a Nook e-reader.
