Disney has released the longest trailer so far for Tim Burton’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, and the film looks delightfully weird. The trailer features Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helen Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and Alan Rickman. Check it out below!
This isn’t the first teaser for the film – Disney released a series of ultra-short teaser clips earlier on – but it’s the first time that we’ve been allowed to stay in Wonderland for more than a few seconds. In the clip, the voice of the Blue Caterpillar (Alan Rickman, who tragically passed away recently) warns Alice (Mia Wasikowska) to hurry. You’ll also get glimpses of several other characters, including the White Queen (Anne Hathaway), the Red Queen (Helena Bonham-Carter) and newcomer Time (Sacha Baron Cohen).
Alice Through the Looking Glass is based on Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass. It’s a direct sequel to Alice in Wonderland, the 2010 film based on Carroll’s book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Tim Burton directed both films. Alice Through the Looking Glass will hit theaters on May 27 of this year.
