Roald Dahl gave us Willy Wonka bars, an adorable gifted girl, and a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He has paved the way for creating fantastical and magical dreams for children. He cemented himself into the hearts of our childhood with classics such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The BFG, and more. It’s no wonder why we fell in love with is work especially when there are many movies to line our shelves, and now we are getting newly animated adaptations for them!

Recently, Netflix announced that it will be taking every major title in the library of Dahl’s work and animating them for their streaming service. Melissa Cobb, the Vice President of Netflix, has announced that it will be a buildup on Dahl’s work. This huge event will create a bridge between Dahl’s wonderous worlds, creating something unique. Oompa Loompas will be marching their way through den of the Fantastic Mr. Fox while Matilda snacks on whangdoodles and everlasting gobstoppers.
This is an amazing feat that will create a new chapter in Roald Dahl’s legacy. Still, there’s more good news coming; a new adaptation of The Witches directed by Robert Zemeckis is in the works as well as the origin story for Willy Wonka produced by David Heyman! This is our chance; Netflix has given us the golden ticket and we’re waiting eagerly at its streaming gates. The Netflix series is due to kick off in 2019 and we can’t wait to see how everything will turn out.
