Netflix announced that the ballet novel, Tiny Pretty Things, would be adapted to the screen set to premiere as ten-hour-long episodes next year. The 2016 novel written by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton follows dancers at an elite ballet academy as they all fight for their chance in the spotlight. Girls manipulate, scheme and cheat as they all reach for the same goal.

Writer Michael MacLennan, along with Insurrection Media, Mojo Films and Peacock Alley will lead the charge on this series. Shooting is currently underway in Toronto as fans anticipate the 2020 premiere date.
Netflix has finalized their cast list, which includes Lauren Holly playing Monique, the drill sergeant of the ballerinas at the Archer School of Ballett. Other cast members include Kylie Jefferson, Casimere Jollette, Daniela Norman, Brennan Clost, Michael Hsu Rosen, Damon J. Gillespie, Bayardo De Murguia, Barton Cowperthwaite, Tory Trowbridge and Jess Salgueiro. Many cast members have Broadway or other theater credits, building the anticipation for epic dance scenes and battles between friends and foes.

With Jefferson as Neveah, the rebellious newcomer, Jollette as Belle, the near perfect front runner who has always lived in her sister’s shadow and Norman as June, the shy, but strong dancer waiting to break out of her shell, drama between friends, nerve wracking competitions and high stakes dance numbers are sure to ensue.
