Natalie Portman to Portray Female Thor in New Movie

Natalie Portman will be making a return to the MCU’s Thor franchise, but in a different role. She is known for portraying the character Jane Foster in the movies Avengers: Endgame (2019, Thor: The Dark World (2013), and Thor (2011). She did not appear in the 2017 movie Thor: Ragnarok. On Saturday, Marvel announced at Comic-Con International in San Diego that Portman would play the role of a female Thor in the fourth instalment of the franchise, titled Thor: Love and Thunder.

Marvel also announced various other movie projects at its Comic-Con panel on Saturday, including the “Black Widow,”  “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” “Eternals,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” and a reboot of “Blade,” starring Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali.

The new set of films brings a fresh, new light to the world of Marvel movies, now placing more emphasis on women and people of color.  Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release on November of 2021.
