This Music Monday, we are going back to high school during the 90s, with the parties, the alcohol, and the outrageous clothes. We’re discussing one of the most musical novels, Perks of Being the Wallflower and its adaptation. Some are songs inspired by the book, while some songs that are more modern speak to themes of the novel and characters. You waited long enough. Here’s the playlist.
The songs that I want to highlight are by David Bowie and Fleetwood Mac. David Bowie’s “Heroes” is known as the tunnel song, and it has a significant meaning to Charlie, Sam, and Patrick. “Rebel Rebel” is in the playlist to identify and give the whole thing more color. Secondly, “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac is to highlight the dream each character has.
