Month-Long Celebration for ‘Game of Thrones’ 10 Year Anniversary Set at HBO

To celebrate a decade of the iconic series Game of Thrones, HBO is setting up a month-long event with the fitting title, The Iron Anniversary.

Game of Thrones first premiered on April 17, 2011 and has gone on to become one of the most popular television series of all time. The Iron Anniversary will feature a variety of features and events for fans of the series including personalized HBO Max episode curations, a Game of Thrones marathon, and more as the month goes on.

Game of Thrones will have a Spotlight Page on HBO Max during the month of April that will bring fans to personalized episode curations whether it be for people new to the series or for long-time viewers. The Spotlight will also include more than 150 behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, trailers, and clips.

Starting on April 10th, HBO will begin airing all the episodes of Game of Thrones in a “MaraThrone.” The “MaraThrone” will challenge fans to binge the entire series in order to raise money for global charities such as Women for Women International, UNICEF, World Central Kitchen, and The Trever Project. Game of Thrones cast members will also rally the fans as they participate in the binge-watch for two weeks.

During The Iron Anniversary, HBO will also gift couples who had Westeros-themed wedding ceremonies with special presents. Gifts include Game of Thrones – branded wine, custom chalices, and intricate cakes designed to represent the houses of Stark, Targaryen, and Lannister.

Prepare to have the theme song stuck in your head once again.
