Philip Pullman’s “The Golden Compass” launched an epic fantasy trilogy that was massively popular with audiences worldwide. Following up the initial series, Pullman is releasing a new trilogy beginning with “The Book of Dust” this fall. Best of all, Michael Sheen is narrating the audiobook!

“The Book of Dust” takes place 10 years before “The Golden Compass,” and follows fan favorite Lyra Belacqua. The initial trilogy followed Lyra as children in a fictionalized version of Oxford begin disappearing, launching her into a mystical search for the truth. Pullman’s initial series is well-known for its take on religion, and the new trilogy promises to further develop these ideas.
Michael Sheen is riding a wave of book news, having just been cast in the TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s “Good Omens,” which you can read more about here.
“The Book of Dust” comes out October 19.
