Watcher in the Woods

Melissa Joan Hart Directs Anjelica Huston in New Halloween Thriller

Halloween is my favorite holiday. Always has been, always will be. So imagine my surprise when Lifetime announced a new adaptation of The Watcher in the Woods, directed by none other than Sabrina the Teenage Witch!

Based on Florence Engel Randall’s 1976 mystery novel, the movie tells the tale of Mrs. Aylwood, whose daughter mysteriously disappeared over twenty years ago. A supernatural mystery begins when the new neighbors move in and their child looks just like Mrs. Aylwood’s missing daughter. The original 1980 adaptation stars Bette Davis, Lynn-Holly Johnson, and an eleven-year-old Kyle Richards (the HBIC from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills). So Melissa Joan Hart has some big shoes to fill.

Oh wait, she did. Anjelica Huston takes over the role of Mrs. Aylwood from Bette Davis, and, knowing my girl Anj, she’s going to knock this one out of the park.

Watch the trailer below to get just as hyped as I am:
