Mary Poppins was played by Julie Andrews in the beloved version from 1964. The movie was based on the series of books by P L Travers. A movie, Saving Mr. Banks, was even made with Emma Thompson playing Travers. With the beloved songs that the Disney version made so popular and the recognizable figure of Poppins, we’re getting a new chapter in the story of Mary Poppins.
The movie is called Mary Poppins Returns. As we stated before, Emily Blunt will play Poppins and Lin Manuel-Miranda will play a lamplighter named Jack! There’s also a fan theory about Burt floating about that Emily Blunt finds interesting!
