Believe it or not, it’s been 18 years since Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone, to us) hit shelves, and an official Harry Potter coloring book with original art has yet to be released. But Muggles of all ages should get excited now, because Scholastic just announced its plans to release the first official Harry Potter coloring book in November. Start waving your crayons, colored pencils, and wands, because this one’s a doozy.
What will make the announcement of Harry Potter: The Official Coloring Book #1 especially enticing to longtime fans is that Warner Brothers will be cracking open the vault and giving Scholastic access to original, never-before-seen line art used in the making of the seven Potter films. As for what exactly this art depicts, the online description says the final product will feature “fan-favorite scenes, creatures, and characters: from Dobby and baby Norbert to Quidditch games and the unforgettable final battle between Harry and Lord Voldemort.” And yes, that “#1” in the title highly suggests that there will be more to come.
The book is currently available for pre-order and will be released on November 24. As of now, the coloring book is a top seller, once again proving that Pottermania is still going strong.
